Katrina is a registered teacher, with over twenty-five years experience in the Education Field.  Katrina has worked in both the public and private sectors of education, as a teacher, Literacy Teacher, Deputy Principal, and Curriculum Supervisor for a region of schools. Published Curriculum Programs authored by Katrina include: Practical Outcomes, Towards Essential Learnings – English, and various Teacher Resources in the area of Literacy.

Full day:  $1200 (plus gst) – broken into three 2 hour sessions:  Prep, Year One and Year Two

One of the most challenging aspects of teaching in the Early Years is the understanding of, and the teaching of reading.  This Professional Development helps teachers to develop practical strategies to meet the needs of young readers.  You will explore:

  • The elements to successful reading, why these are important and how they can be implemented
  • Current research on the teaching of reading and the practical applications of this research
  • the BORN2READ program and how to implement in your classroom
  • Connections to current Australian Curriculum Documents.

 

Facilitator Workshop:  Delivering BORN2READ Professional Development for School Communities

Over two days, facilitators receive intensive training and support materials that will help them provide high-quality professional development and ongoing support for teachers in their schools.

This Professional Development helps leaders in Literacy, to develop practical strategies to meet the needs of teachers, teaching reading in the Early Years.  You will explore:

  • The elements to successful reading, why these are important and how they can be implemented
  • Current research on the teaching of reading and the practical applications of this research
  • the BORN2READ program and how to implement in your school
  • Training Modules
  • Access to Professional Development Membership
  • Online Professional Support
  • Access to School Visits from BORN2READ personnel (at a negotiated cost)
